EFCA is Seeking Interns and Volunteers

The Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia invites interns and volunteers to help us promote our mission of helping citizens participate in building their future by strengthening their communities and improving their civic and economic wellbeing. EFCA has offices in Almaty, Bishkek, Osh and Dushanbe. We are a locally registered NGO with an international staff and board, seeking to combine the best practices of international NGOs with a deep understanding of the countries where we have worked for the past 15 years.

Assignments will be individually tailored to the person's skills and experience and the needs of both sides. Possibilities include research, proposal writing, translating, direct assistance at project sites and English teaching. We are particularly interested in people who can help us produce web-based and video materials to promote EFCA's mission and individual project goals (see an example here ). You can find out more about EFCA and the projects we support at our website, www.efcentralasia.org.

Assignments are unpaid, though EFCA will assist with logistics and may cover some in-country assignment related expenses. EFCA will help interns meet academic requirements. Past interns have come from undergraduate and graduate programs at Tufts, Cambridge, Occidental, Yale and George Mason universities, as well as leading local schools like KIMEP and the American University of Central Asia.

If you would like to apply to be a volunteer or an intern, please send a letter explaining your interests and your resume to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it and write “intern” or “volunteer” in the subject line.
